Danica's Fourth Dance Recital

My goodness, at 7 years of age, my girl was in her fourth dance recital last night. The theme was At the Movies, and Dani's movies were Enchanted, as a ballerina, and Skittles (whatever that is) as a highland dancer.

Naturally however, we had to shoot some pre-performance photos.

A pretty pose

With Grandma and Mom, who was just there to get her changed last night

With Whatshisname

She sat with us through all of the first have, always demanding to know what was coming up next and keeping track of all of her friends. Then came Enchanted, which was kind of enchanting.

So soft and pretty

Concentrate and extend

Very shortly after she had changed into a skittle for her second performance.

Kick up those heels

Pointing just so

Gotta get the fingers just right

She joined us in the audience until the finale.

Clapping and walking on

Contemplating her triumph?

She is excitable and exuberant

Naturally, the dancer was presented with a bouquet after her glorious work. This was moments after she thought she had been neglected.

She loved her flowers and hung onto them all of the way home
Tonight she will do it all again. This time mom and dad will be there, and we'll be having JJ for a sleepover.

  2. She's a doll. All the ppictures are great, but that last shot is a super keeper.

  3. She is lovely! I've just come home from watching oldest grandson's hiphop dance recital.... an hour's drive and $15 to watch a 6 year old roll on the floor wearing a Luke Skywalker suit for 3 minutes, and his lightsabre didn't even work!
Oh well, that's what Nanas do.....

  4. We only had to drive 1/2 hour, but we also had to pay $18 EACH. Plus we have to pay for her seat too when she's up watching. Otherwise, she has to stay downstairs.

  5. And worth every penny, I'm guessing.

  6. She really is growing up so quickly. But she is looking prettier every time and so serious about her dancing.

  7. Love her concentration while onstage--your little dancer is growing up quickly. Sweet shot of the circle of ballerinas.

  12. Seven?!
Oh, AC, I hope I get to enjoy my granddaughter as much as you are enjoying yours.
I got a later start--not something a prospective grandparent can control, eh? We get grandchildren, if we are fortunate, through no action we can control.

  14. The time we spend with our Grands is priceless; she is a doll....and so talented. I'm amazed that at 7 this is her fourth recital. Outstanding.
The photos you have of her are splendid.

  15. Great record, gramps! And the light on the last shot matches the light in her eyes.
Not enamoured of the Skittles costume, personally. Does not show her off. Skittles is a type of bowling, I believe. But no need to make them all look like plaid bowling balls.
Even in that rig, she's adorable.
