JJ's Goal and More

Jonathan played in a hockey tournament on the 28th and scored his first goal ever.

But nobody in the family saw it.

Dad was working, Grandma and Grandpa were permitted to miss the early game, and Mom had been briefly called away.

He was ecstatic to score but disappointed that nobody was there to witness the historical event.

So, he scored again in the second game.

From my seat in the bleachers, I was able to catch him just before he released the shot.

Sue was sitting beside me taking videos since I find her little camera is often better than my big one for videos, and, besides, I prefer shooting photos. She caught the whole play, right up to the actual scoring part, that is. The short clip shows how he got the puck at centre ice and skated in past the defenders to score. You will hear Sue being quite enthusiastic in the clip.

He received Player of the Game honours for that game.

He also had a good play that came close to scoring in the third and final game in which they won the gold medal.

A few more shots.

He's become quite a good skater.

Chasing down the puck.

Passing the puck.

With the medal.

Finally, I have put some of Sue's clips together into one montage: just for the record.

JJ has improved tremendously. Grandma is having a great time. How wonderful for you both to be able to participate in the lives of the grandkids as you do!

He is really making you proud ... and he's handsome to boot. (Where did the little boy go?)

What fun! I remember watching my younger boy playing soccer and how emotional we would get.
