I did say that I would post some tobogganing/sledding videos. There are three of the kids and one of the grandparents (the third one below).
We had four varieties of sleds, including an inflatable one that we hadn't used before. On the first ride down JJ took quite a tumble. Fortunately, he was alright and had another ride later, as did Danica. It wasn't their fave ride though.
They preferred the saucers and took numerous rides.
The grandparents did get in on the action, but they used the toboggan. I found out that my knees had deteriorated even more since last winter and could barely get on the thing. Pathetic. I didn't do well on the first ride, so I took another and fared better. Sue did better overall.
Finally, there was a section of the hillside that had been made very icy and bumpy, and both kids went bumming down a few times.
Looks like you all had a ball!!
ReplyDeleteBrought me right back to when we were young. We spent hours every day, that weather permitted, out with our toboggans and coasters. So great to get out in the fresh air like that--hope you all slept good that night!
so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThat bumpy ride wouldn't have been for me. But the others look great! I don't think I ever been on a sled like that though. We used those high-up ones.
ReplyDeleteWay to go everyone! Canadian winter fun. Great reminder! We don't have any good hills for sliding in this area!
ReplyDeleteI m not sure which of Cuppa's laughter or Danica's heartfelt 'ow!' I enjoyed more. Great videos. I do not believe the ice bump run. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Our kids were skating on the canal. My knees are bad, too, though.
ReplyDeleteThat last ride down the icy slope had to leave some sore bums from the bumpy trip. Sue and yourself didnwell, except for that one tumble.
ReplyDeleteThis is why my granddaughter says winter is her favorite season.
