Silent Sunday
Some of the many faces of Zachary who is just a few days short of being nine months old. He's incredibly handsome and reminds me a lot of his Buppa. Not! :)

We Have Company

The A Team is visiting from the Left Coast for a few days, so you probably won't hear from me very much except to post pictures. Fortunately, for me if not for you, I have a bunch at hand, especially of Nikki Dee who was exceedingly cute at Daddy's birthday party on the weekend. Zach had his share of cute moments too.

A Convergence of Two's
Be careful for the planet is in a powerful phase, and it's all our fault because we have caused what is known cosmically as A Convergence of Two's. Okay, so I'm making up the cosmic part but not the two part. You see, Cuppa has recently turned sixty-two, and even more recently Zach attained the ripe old age of two months. Meanwhile, the fabulous Nikki Dee will become two years old within two weeks. All this within the passing of one calendar month. So, be afraid; be very afraid.
I haven't been posting many photos of Zachary lately, partly because he's always about the same. Most often, he's sleeping, and when he's awake he's generally looking about placidly. It's even easy to forget he's around. To wit: we were over for dinner, so he was placed out of sight and out of harm's reach (aka Nikki Dee's reach) while we were eating. He was awake the whole time but so quiet I forgot all about him. To this day, that has never ever happened with his big sister. For some strange and inexplicable reason, one is always aware that Nikki Dee is in the room.
Nevertheless. we do mange to get snap some shots from time to time, and here are a few taken on or near his second month birthday.

Day Two
Let's face it bloggers; you're going to get a steady diet of Zach photos for the next little while. It's most for family and friends and also for me because that's where my head will be at. I will understand if my blogging friends make themselves scarce.
Back in the hospital ...
We were up early this afternoon and for a while in the evening and can report that he seems to be doing fine. It's been a day of a lot of sleeping and a little feeding. Fussing has been minimal ... for Mom too. She's in good spirits and seems to be recovering quickly. Tomorrow will be eventful as they are coming home. We'll see how that goes because Nikki Dee had a few moments of angst and at the hospital jealousy today. dad and I took her for short lunch at the cafeteria followed by a longer tour of the attached seniors residence.
Zach doesn't seem to prefer being up like he is in these two photos although you can't tell from his sleepy and contented look these pictures. He likes to be swaddled, and early indications are that he will take to the soother, something that never was high on Nikki Dee's joy list.
He has long fingers and toes and some of his facial marks may be from scratching himself.

Day One
We went up for several hours in the afternoon. Both mother and baby slept or rested most of the time, and that's all to the good. This is one of my first pictures with the little guy. It took me awhile to relinquish him. Then, grandma took a turn, and by golly it was longer than mine.

And this is the first picture of Nikki Dee and Zachary together. Neither is at all interested in the other. ND did show some mild interest but no more than for a light switch or a what have you. In the picture, she's being distracted by the tv.
I thought Nikki Dee was a baby until today, but Zach's tininess almost flabbergasted me, and made me realize that she isn't. He's a pretty big baby too, even slightly bigger than Nikki Dee two years ago. My how they grow and change. We all know this in one way, but the tangible evidence still tends to surprise.

This is how Zach spent most of his first afternoon in this life (below). He's well covered in this shot, so his lack of a bath doesn't show too much, nor do his birthing marks. We can't figure out who he resembles yet: nobody that know. Stay tuned.

Then we took over the care of Nikki Dee so Daddy could go back to the hospital for the evening. She continues to amaze by naming various letters of the alphabet and putting the peices of both number and alphabet puzzless largely in the right place. She doesn't always get them oriented, but I'm still pleased. My name seems to be Buppa.
Although we're all tired, I wanted to get this out for family and friends. And now to sleep. I hope.

That was Quick!

Due to the modern miracle of text messaging, here's the news that was sent to me in the wee hours. Due to the old necessity of acquiring sleep, I did not receive it at the time. The first I heard was at 6:30 when Cuppa and Papa returned. Not a bad turnaround in four short hours.
In a record time, CB showed up!!!
Born at 341 am, after 1hr10 of labour!!!
Approx 9lbs no official weight in yet
Mommy and baby are fine, baby is strong and healthy!
