It's Crowded in Here

Cuppa took a picture of the little fella doing something or other in my den and opined on how messy it looked it here. Well, yes dear, but it's a pretty crowded place. In a space of something like 10x12, perhaps a little more, I have a whole slew of furnishings.

Such as:
  • 4 bookcases, two of which are wall unit size
  • 1 fridge, bar-size but a fridge nevertheless
  • 1 tv with satellite box on top of the fridge
  • 2 computer tables, one large and one older small one where I keep paper and items to be filed
  • 1 computer chair
  • 1 visitors chair in case someone else needs to be able to view the computer
  • 1 big filing cabinet
  • 1 little roll-about set of drawers
  • 1 recliner chair
  • 1 little table beside the recliner
  • 1 lamp beside the table beside the recliner
  • 8 pictures/painting hanging on the walls
So, yes that's a whole lotta stuff in the littlest room in the house, so it tends not to look a little stuffed in here at the best of times. Of course it doesn't help when I leave a few items of apparel dangling from the [visitors] chair or when the little fella decides to spread his toy pizza all over the floor for the purpose of play-feeding his Buppa. Then, more often than not, I have a camera case and a book bag taking up floor space along with a pair or two of slippers and/or shoes.

Basically, when I'm home, this is the room in which I reside ... and it shows.

If you come to visit I'll want to make a good impression, so I'll do what I can to seem not too slovenly by clearing the surfaces such as to remove any clothes dangling from the chair. I'll do my best, but I can't promise miracles. Basically, it is what it is.

Hahahaaa....you don't want to see MY office either!
I DO understand the concept of new IN, old OUT but it's time that has me at a disadvantage...By the time I get home from work, all I want to do is get supper done and rest.

Well, if you ever want to rearrange the furniture, I can recommend the website Floorplanner.com.
I used it to "arrange" the furniture in the place where I moved my parents. Plus it's fun to play with.
Just as long as you can find your way out, I suppose the room isn't too crowded.

Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree...

I can relate A.C. When we moved in here we didn't have enough furniture or stuff to fill it up. Now we are trying to find room for things we can't seem to part with to make room for all of the stuff that we use!

Your room sounds lived in. And that's as it should be.

Love Di ♥

P.S. I really enjoyed your Mill photos. Very Nice!!

Everyone needs a room like that. We have one and often it is where the younger people gravitate to when we have company. It never looks messy to me until I see a picture of it.

Never enoough bookcases. Sounds like a fine spot to me and my room has kids' toy boxes and camera cases and discarded sweaters all over it too.

It sounds perfectly lived in, to me.

AC, after reading the list of what's on your room and reading the post, I was especting to see one of your photos. Your room sounds very much like my back room, complete with extra office chair for visitors.

That's not too bad unless you forgot to tell us about the left over food, coffee cups, over flowing wastebaskets, etc. Hmmmm, I wonder, like Beatrice, why no picture ???
