When I Was a Lad ...

I'm going to show my age here, but when I was a lad ... I had a tricycle. When I was a lad ... my tricycle was mostly metal. When I was a lad ... my tricycle tires were rubber. Who knows, perhaps the saddle was even leather.

Sixty years later, Nikki Dee has a tricycle.

Can you see any metal, any rubber, anything that isn't plastic? Anything at all?

Look at her go though!

Isn't that silvery thingy connecting the plastic pedals to something or other made of metal? Funny how the glittery part jumped out at me.

Dagnabit Lorna. You're right.

My tricycle was the same as yours. We must be the same age ;)

Like you, metal trike. But my kiddy car was made of wood. When I got the tricycle my mother chopped up the kiddy car to make kindling and I was truly devastated. The start of a long life of mourning things outgrown.
She sure is travelling. I also love the push bar; a smart development.

...Lorna's good...I didn't see that.
But I think I like what We had more so than what they turn out for our kids and grandkids...Remember putting playing cards in the spokes and listening to the flapping??
Loved that!
Cute shot!

She is a very intent driver. I see something of her future in about 14 years or so.

Oh, I remember the cards too. *blushing as I show my age* But times change and we have to change a little with them. I see what all kids have today and I just shake my head. My grand has a bizillion toys but she would rather play with an empty milk jug or one of the many odds ends we have around the house. You grandbaby is a doll though.

I love the way she's bent over the handlebars. As if that's the way to give her more speed!

AC, You're right, there's not much of that tricycle that's made of metal. My how times have changed.

Thanks for all the kind words of support while undergoing my open heart surgery last week. I'm coming along nicely except for the fact that I have trouble sleeping.

Blessings,
Mary
