Missing Her

One might wonder how I could possibly miss a girl that I babysit every weekday (although she is gone to daycare for most of Monday and Friday), but it happened this weekend. As we drove into town on Saturday afternoon, I began to miss her exuberant chatter, so when I was ready to shop for groceries on Sunday, I wondered if she might like to come along. It turned out that "Yes, she might."

Once we were done, of course she expressed her desire to come to "Buppa House" just as I knew she would. So she did.

And it came to pass that the house was full of joy and energy.

I sure understand. HH and I are having withdrawal. Our grands are not little anymore and too busy to just drop by. I call to ask them over but there is volleyball, play or practice, then basketball, then swim team and on and on. But I have my pictures, like you, of the good old times.

She certainly is growing up. Cuter by the day.

Enjoy her while you can. The time will fly by until the day comes she would rather spend time with "the significant friend" and not the Grandpa. It can be painful when you "have to let them go" and find other ways to relate as adults. That can be good to but not nearly as delightful moment to moment.
