After all of those climbing photos last week, Zachy finally took a tumble down the stairs. It looks like he hit the whole side of his face on the edge of a tread. I'm thankful that it didn't happen on our watch although I would think that there are to be many scrapes and bruises in his future and we will witness some of them. In fact, just today, he got himself under the table where I was sitting. Then he stood up abruptly and clunked himself a good one. There was no blood, but there were tears, and I wouldn't be surprised if he developes a big goose egg.
Ah poor little thing, but you knew it was just a matter of time before a tumble happened and yes unfortunately there will be more, especially with this little one who loves to climb so much. A big hug and kiss will go a long way in making him feel better....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh, ouch! Poor little guy. I clearly remember the times when my little ones tumbled down the stairs. And stood up under tables. And.........!
ReplyDeleteI guess we need to be glad that we have tough adventurous toddlers who like to test their limits; bodes well for their futures. And keep the bandaids handy.
OOOuuuucH!!! I have been dealing with my fair share of bumps, bruises and scrapes as of late too... and it never gets easier. Poor little fella ...
ReplyDeletePoor boy. And to think I came by expecting to see him intact! He'll get 'em. And then he'll heal and grow all around them, as we do, right?

ReplyDeleteI read this story yesterday--and couldn't think of anything particular to say--except to recall my own encounters with these childhood injuries.
ReplyDeleteMy brother was so accident prone, as he was learning to walk, that he had a seemingly permanent scar on his forehead. For a time, my mother put a small bandage there as a kind of blow-absorbing protection.
My mother always said: you will be fine if you can still make a noise (cry). It's only when you are silent that I need to worry!
ReplyDeleteAh just a couple of several more bumps and bruises to come. Fortunately he probably won't remember them! You should see the photo of my Frank when he decided to make a bike ramp to jump over! Yikes! Stitches were involved. Maybe I will post that for a retro weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
Oh, no! OUCH!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! That's scary-taking a tumble down the stairs! That's one thing I've always been afraid of with little ones- especially boys!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad he's ok!
