Father's Day Treat

To the best of all of our recollections, we have not been together as a complete unit on Father's Day since 1997. By coincidence, we are all in the same city at the same time this year, so we were all able to get together on Father's Day: the best gift by far.

This is it, the whole darn clan, at least on my side of the family: The Boy, Butterfly, AC, Cuppa, Lady Bug, and Power Puff. I have no siblings, and my parents are deceased. We are a small family but a great family.

I am happily surrounded by all my children. I consider The Boy and Power Puff to be my children too.

With my two birth daughters, Butterfly and Lady Bug (note: Cuppa helped immeasurably with the birthing part).

Yes, Cuppa and I are still romantically involved.

All the family in one spot! That does make for a great Father's Day. My husband struggled briefly yesterday as it was the first year we weren't all together.

You have a beautiful family!

That's awesome that you could all be together. We haev problems trying to get all of us together at the same time too. Life tries to get in the way far too often. Sounds like you had a good time.

Yes, Cuppa and I are still romantically involved.

The last time my wife and I embraced that passionately, she was trying to revive me after I passed out from eating thirteen crullers and a quart of coffee on a dare. Some have suggested that in her disgust with yet another display of my perversely unhealthy eating habits, she was actually sucking the air out of my lungs, rather than filling them... While I don't fully believe this malicious accusation, I have since cut back on my consumption of pastries... fried or otherwise.

Coffee, however, is still consumed liberally.

Happy (belated) Father's Day. And great pix.

What an inspiring post! I have been hearing so many sad stories about marriages and family lately, so it was utterly refreshing today to come here and see your pictures and read your story. Thanks so much! ... Debra

I hope you had a great Father's Day, AC. Great pictures. When it comes to family, sometimes small is better.

What warm fuzzies looking at all those happy family members! It's always nice to see families who still like each other. You guys are an inspiration to me!

And I'm sure the way you demonstrate your love for Cuppa is an inspiration for your kids. :-)

hubba, hubba......
I love it when my hubby embraces and kisses me like that.....and what sometimes follows :)

What a BEAUTIFUL family- your daughters are both gorgeous, just gorgeous.

I just about busted a gutt when I read Katt wish you Happy Thanksgiving.....and then saw that she was slightly sloshed....and I thought to myself for a moment that it was really appropriate to say Happy Thanksgiving because that was what your post was all about.

I know you already know this, but you have something that many people *long* for AC, a family where everyone is loved, accepted, valued and some people wait all their life to be in that.

So I say Happy Father's Day to you too - and thanks for sharing those awesome pictures. Where do your girls and PowerPuff get their beautiful skin?
