It is 4C out at 7, and my window is open this morning, but I am toasty under the heated afghan.
I always mistype morning (except now) but autocorrect never corrects it.
We’ve begun fall cleanup. The backyard is done. The front can stay for awhile.
We’ll be getting a dog this week — doggy-sitting for five weeks. He’s old. What have we done?!
The dog will keep us from doing some of our normal colour-peeping drives, but we got to the sugarbush last week, and we can enjoy the colours here in town.
Over the past months, I have written and trashed two posts about The Oak Ridge Boys — don't even ask, or I would have to create and trash another one. There were other posts in draft form — 18 posts in all. I trashed half of them, including the Oak Ridge Boys. There are a few that I might still post.
I have some October-Halloween images in the queue. This is my most recent — a figure from Dark & Deadly reimagined. It is saying, “Come to bed, my darling.”

I'm glad I'm not the only one who regularly writes and subsequently trashes posts. Sometimes I come back and rewrite them in a different way that gets past my previous hang-up with it and they see the light of day, but not very often.
ReplyDeletePlease don't let the visiting doggie get scared by the Halloween creatures that hang out with.... Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI hope your friends are ok (ORB’s)…. usually if I trash a post it feels too”worrisome” to discuss.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of dog will be your great friend for the next several weeks?
You take wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteDogs need to be walked! I see a flood of great autumn pictures. When I tussle with a post, it is usually something i am emotional about and it just stays on my mind until suddenly the words come right. Hope all is well with the the boys.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you enjoy the dog-sitting and so does the dog. You had a wonderful sunny day yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI have trashed many posts and entire blogs too! Enjoy the doggo 🐶
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween pix! Pretty creepy, but so is Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI think your coffee place's decorations are really disturbing for me. Somehow skeletons and fake blood do not whet my appetite. Same for your creative photos of same, but fortunately I've already had my breakfast when see today's post. I do like your fall photos and the sweet couple in the selfie!
ReplyDeleteOctober is going to be a hard month for you.
DeleteA dog visitor for 5 weeks? You are very kind to do that. A week is about all we can take with our granddog who needs walking three times a day.
ReplyDeleteDan loves coffee and had a pumpkin spice one yesterday that he fell in love with. It also put him into a caffeine buzz such that he mowed the lawn for me yesterday. (It's usually my job.)
I hope you enjoy the dog visit! 5 weeks is a long time, you will all become accustomed to each others patterns and so on, and then it will be gone. I look forward to seeing dog pictures in amongst your beautiful photos of fall foliage!
ReplyDelete"There are pumpkins on the porch" is such a (welcome) wholesome sentence. Looking forward to hearing more about your houseguest, ha.
ReplyDeleteA dog! I am so envious. Mr. Dark & Deadly can sleep alone. I never rewrite posts. I know lots of people do. You two look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the photo of Sue and you and the house peeping out from the yellow tree. I would be curious to try that coffee shop and am also curious about what you found to write about the Oak Ridge Boys. I barely know who they are!
ReplyDeleteI am not 100% sure…. but I think “Oak Ridge Boys” refers to a nickname he gives for his photography friends that he meets for coffee relatively often. I do not think AC was referencing the musical group.
DeleteAt least… I THINK what I have stated is correct, but I am not sure.
It was the group, once gospel and still partly so but maybe more country now. They appeared as a gospel group to my church in 1962, and that was basically my memory. I wrote about those days in my life but then trashed it -- twice.
DeleteThat first photo made me jump! LOL! Great picture of you and Sue, dear friend! I have never rewritten any posts, but I know that some do.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of you and Sue!
ReplyDeleteOh my, dog-sitting?? Whose dog? Adventure ahead.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos as always, AC. Stay warm!
The first picture looks a bit like my ex-the second after a week of drunk. Thank goodness I don't have to wake up to that anymore. The dog sitting sounds exciting.
ReplyDeleteIt’s so good to see some Fall colour coming through now!
ReplyDeleteI hope the dog sitting goes well for you. It’s almost like babysitting isn’t it?
Enjoyed the last shot of you both appropriately bundled up for cooler fall weather. Happy autumn to you as well.
