My Last DIsh?

For awhile now, I've had a bit of a hankering for poutine. If you don't know about the concoction, I did post about last year, but it was in response to a question., and your queries  will be answered there if you are uneducated with regard to fine cuisine — which is generally purchased from a truck and comes in a box. It has been two years since I last had the courage (or audacity) to consume a dish. But I wanted tho eat it one more time before I die, the date of which has likely been hastened now that I've gone and done it.

Sue doesn't want anything to do with this marvellous dish, so when she was going out near lunchtime, I seized the opportunity to beat a hasty path to the nearest chip truck. I was also getting anxious because the chip trucks could be closing down anytime now, or at least operating on reduced hours, so it was time.

Off I went to the Potato King ...

... to order this sublime concoction. Fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Mmmm mmmm. Doesn't it look incredible? Don't you want one? Okay then, two?

And I ate it here. (No, Sue wasn't with me, but that's about where I was, and iCloud is giving me fits downloading the shot that I took at the time.)

Oh I love a good poutine! I am glad you enjoyed yours and I am sure a leisurely walk along the beautiful water's edge you are showing us will be more than enough to counterbalance the effect of the poutine on your life expectancy.

Thankfully, there is burger place in Glasgow where poutine is on the menu. I am off to rummage in my empty cupboards for something that comes close.

Here in the Midwest USofA we would call that H.A.O.A.P. (Heart attack on a plate). There is actually a local diner that serves something very similar and advertises it as such.
Looks delicious, but I haven't ever tried it. I hope you live to enjoy many more servings. One per year shouldn't do much damage, should it? Sue doesn't know what she's missing. LOL!
Eat on!!!

It must be a fairly popular dish. My sixteen year old grandson who has pedaled a bicycle over much of this country will detour for poutine. Once he had a very difficult trail, did not make his anticipated destination, and posted a picture of backwoods poutine: fries with ketchup, somewhere in West Virginia.

So you had to go and post that photo and we have no place close by us here in Nashua, NH to get any. In truth, we've only had poutine a couple of times and I believe it was when we we in the Niagara Falls area years ago. We did experience cheese curds for the first time when we were on our cross country trip. We liked them so much that we've thankful they are NOT on menus here. And, nothing wrong with treating yourself, John, and there will be more times as well.

I might like a bite or two of that...it would all depend on the flavor of the gravy...but I am certain I could not eat much. We do have to give in to pleasure now and again in our waning years.

I've heard about this dish but never got to try it during any of our vacations in Canada. Hmmm.. I guess this means we need to take another trip there.

Fine poutine! They are offering it everywhere, these days. With many variations!
