On Monday we ordered our monthly pizza. It must have been a busy night, for it took more than an hour for our supper to arrive. Further to that, it must have been a busy night because the pizza arrived sans sauce. I didn’t even realize what was amiss at first because it still tasted pretty good, but Sue figured it out.
It took me until Friday to go in to see them about it. I had the verifying photos that Sue took to prove my point. He told me they don’t make pizzas without sauce unless I had ordered it that way.
When I showed him the bill, he offered me a half-price pizza. I declined because I hadn’t received the pizza that I had ordered. I was willing to come away empty-handed rather than pay for more pizza.
He then said that he would make me a new pizza at no cost.
"Do you want it now?"
I didn’t really and asked if he could give me a coupon. He said they weren't set up for that, but that he would remember me when I called in. I doubted that, so I said that now would be fine.
Fifteen minutes later, I left with a hot pizza.
I thanked him. I said something like, “We all make mistakes, but you corrected yours."
At home, after pizza, I went back to my fireworks photos, which I have not been too thrilled with. I cropped this bunch differently, much tighter, They are what they are, which is about as profound as this old fella can get. Unfortunately.
A pizza without sauce? My inner Italian wants to scream. Glad you were given another pizza. I like your fireworks photos!
ReplyDeleteSome people actually order pizza without sauce. I can’t imagine it. I really like that second last photo.
ReplyDeleteThat was a weird experience for sure! Glad you captured some of the beauty of the boom booms. I liked watching it on TV.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Pizza 🍕 is great.
ReplyDeleteI once dined with a person who ordered a burger which arrived without a burger patty. The waiter accused her of eating it before complaining until I vouched for her. Yes, we all make mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased that the pizza mistake was rectified.
ReplyDeleteYour fireworks photographs look like exotic flowers - so lovely.
I cannot imagine how they could have made such an obvious error, but you did right to stick to your guns.
ReplyDeleteThat third photo is stellar in my book. Well done.
I used to work in management at a very well loved restaurant company. Our motto was to fix any mistakes even if it wasn't our mistake. The reason being is they did a study. If a patron leaves dissatisfied, they will undoubtably tell tons of people.
ReplyDeleteIf a patron leaves happy, they will recommend the place to just a few folks.
Negative stuff is always shared more than the positives.
I'm glad he made things right.
I love all of your shots, no fireworks here for me to see or shoot!
:)
I wonder if someone who did order a pizza without sauce got one with sauce. You know what I love though? That you and Sue have your quiet little celebrations: A monthly pizza. Tim Horton's coffee. Shared photography hobby. Selfies. You two are a lovely and loving couple, and it is sweet to see.
ReplyDeleteRight? It's inspiring!
DeleteI can't imagine a pizza without sauce although it seems like European pizza has very little of it. I've had pizza two nights in a row and it's too much of a good thing. I'm glad that the place made reparations for their mistake!
ReplyDeleteI think your shots are very nice. Much better than anything. I rget of fireworks. Yes, even animals and babies have a developed sense of fairness. We simply do not feel comfortable when something does not seem fair to us. Glad you got your second pie Aloha!
ReplyDeleteA pizza without sauce has been called a white pizza which we have enjoyed but since you specifically wanted sauce it's god that you did get a replacement, gratis. Your fireworks photos were far better than any I tried and yours had a predominance of reds and greens.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a busy night at the pizza place.
ReplyDeleteWe don't eat out much, but I've never had a nekkid pizza like that. I would have noticed.
ReplyDeleteI sent Joe in for pizza last week. About 10 min. after he would have picked it up, they phoned to say they gave him the wrong one. They asked him to return it. Happily, they gave him a drink to make up for it. My pizza was not cold, so that was a good thing.
ReplyDeleteWell I thought your fireworks photos were good, even if you didn't!
ReplyDeleteI liked the fireworks pictures. At least you got a free pizza since they made a mistake.
