I tend to live in a bit of a dream world: have always been absent-minded. Even when I was kid, my parents would get exasperated with my forgetfulness. One teacher went as far as to make me run around the classroom in a vain attempt to try to awaken me from my daydreams. Today, I descended to a new low: went to the grocery store; went through the line; paid the bill; but walked off with an empty cart.
Well, you were indeed absent-minded! I've been absent-minded sometimes, but something like that has never happened to me!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it has anything to do with age. I mean, you're only 35... LOL!
Obviously you had much more important things on your mind. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis from a woman who locked her keys in a running car twice this year. Sheesh
A new low? I don't think that. You forgot your groceries. Please be gentle with yourself, AC.
ReplyDeleteAnybody (of any age) could do that. On the trip I just took, the (young, in her 20's) most organized co-worker lost her cosmetic case AND her cell phone--on two different days!
ReplyDeleteOh, is that a low? In that case, I'm pretty low on a regular basis! I forget all kinds of stuff, including groceries, and especially change! I'm just super thrilled that I have yet to forget either one of my children when out and about! My favorite is when I drag myself up from a comfortable position and go to another room, only to forget why I got up within seconds! That's always fun! Sadly, I don't have daydreams to blame, that would be good. I'm just braindead!
ReplyDeleteYou may be absent-minded, but you will always perspective to find such flubs amusing. A sense of humor is a much more valuable trait then a perfect attention span.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can beat you easily, AC. Twice I have left my purse inside the shopping cart and drove away not even realizing it!
ReplyDeleteLuckily for me, honest people found it each time and returned it to the store in perfect condition.
Seriously, what you did was not all that bad. :)
Hmm. How exactly do you do that?
ReplyDeleteI've always believed daydreaming is serious business - its where we really want to be...but, this was just downright amusing.
ReplyDeleteOk, that is definitely chuckle worthy!
