Sunday Walk, Mostly Flowers

Today will be blistering, climbing into the higher 30s Celsius and getting close to 100F. We shan't be venturing forth. However, Sunday morning was delightful when we walked to the park.

I'll sneak in these Coneflowers: also from the park, but they were seen on a previous day.


At home, the first daylily had opened: posted especially with the Furry Gnome in mind.


I picked a few fresh flowers for the little bouquet in my room: especially for Boud.

    Such beautiful posies today! I usually call the first Queen Ann's Lace...though beware of Hemlock which supposedly looks the same but without the dark spot in the middle. Glad you picked the zinnias!

      It looks like that for sure, but I think QAL is flatter, and this is what info generated. I decided to take their word on it. 😉

      Well this led me to take quite a tumble into a rabbit hole. First I read about the difference between poison hemlock and queen Anne's lace. Your picture is definitely queen Anne's lace. Then I wondered about cow parsnip. (no. That is not the same as poison hemlock.) Then I pulled yarrow into the mix. Thanks for the happy detour! It will be hot here today as well. A good day to putter inside.

    I went out early this morning to admire the fog and take a short walk. It was cool enough as the cold air moved up towards the ridge we had amazing fog. What I didn't take into consideration was the mosquitoes that were relentless and vicious.
    I love your Sunday walk, it is beautiful!
    Going to be near 96F here today.

    I just got back from a few days south of here where oddly enough, it will be ten degrees cooler than here today and I will be around ten degrees cooler than you. Weird how that sometimes happens.
