Things Spotted

The first three items were spotted and taken by Sue, quite obviously in one case. I spotted them too, but she got the photos.

A mirror by the curb. With snow on it, Sue was able to use it for a white photo prompt. Actually, I wouldn't have spotted this one down by the snowbank.  Those are our legs btw. My jeans look khaki in the photo, but they were regular blue.

A silly old man in a red coat with his mitts dangling. It was warm enough that we could expose our hands for a minute without our fingers freezing, which has been the case recently.

A guy was doing things on the frozen pond, but it seems as though he was ice fishing, which seems odd on the small, shallow pond. He yelled that the ice was a foot thick.

Meanwhile, I was being charmed by a dog that was rolling about in the snow with great delight. I took two pics of the dog and owner.

I preferred the dog in the first photo and the person in the second, so I combined them in Photoshop. It was something to try, and it is nice to see that not all of my Photoshop skills have deserted me.

  1. I enjoyed being out in the cold with you without freezing my fingers! Thanks for showing me this exotic situation LOL. Wishing you both a wonderful day. Aloha

  2. Maybe 45 years ago at this point, I was invited to go ice fishing on top of a shallow pond on one of the farms we would one day own. The fishing was so good that we used scoop shovels to pick up the catch and transfer them to buckets every so often. My father sold that farm eventually but I still think of that day every now and then.

  3. Aren't you clever to have your mitts connected to your sleeves. Saves you from losing them. I differ in opinion and prefer the first dog shot with the owner obviously enjoying the dog's actions. But you did well in transposing the head! AI is just the next step I'm afraid.

    1. The first photo was my choice if there had been just one. No AI in this case. Just old-fashioned grunt Photoshopping.

  4. Dogs do love the snow.

  5. Excellent Photoshop job. Dogs treat snow very differently to cats. Dogs are like excited children. Cats are gracefully disdainful.

  8. The joyful dog is hilarious. I can't imagine taking my gloves off, especially to ice fish!

  9. I love the dog photo! And that it's warm enough to take off your mittens for a while. Are mittens warmer than gloves? I ask the Canadian expert.

  12. I'm a wimp. You're out there with no gloves. I'm wearing handwarmers inside my fingerless gloves as I type. That mirror shot is quite unique.

  17. The dog looks so exuberantly happy. The owner? Not so much! The contrast made me laugh.
