After grocery shopping this morning and then having an infuriating time with my tablet that took forever to rectify, we did not get out for our morning walk. Maybe we will do that later, but for now, I will just post a few pics from yesterday, when we also went out in the afternoon.
It was quite wonderful out there with the temperatures up to -4C/25F and with sunshine too. What more could a lowly Canadian ask for, except maybe to be shown a modicum of respect from . . . oh never mind.
I took a photo a little ice formation looking down from the trail bridge. It's nothing special, but I thought that I would share it regardless.
Then, while Sue was photographing things elsewhere form the bridge, I saw my shadow on the vegetation. I'd never seen that before, but we usually walk in the morning.

You two really are the sweetest couple. -Kate
ReplyDeleteLooks COLD! Your couple shadow looks like the beginnings of a Halloween card with cutie ghosties...Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteIt is fun playing with the shadows.
ReplyDeleteI love those shadow photos and yes, you are the sweetest couple! 25, that's a heat wave. :)
ReplyDeleteToday is milder here too! There is light in the sky after 5 p.m. Yay!
ReplyDeleteThese are really wonderful photos. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteI really love how you composed these images. I can see the through angles of photographer's vantage point
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, dear friend ๐งก
ReplyDeleteI love the way you captured those moments on your walk. The shadows and ice formations make the scene feel peaceful and unique.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shadow scenes. I admit to having trouble with the way long shots over the dam kind of bleed the further details as if they're right at the dam, and since I've never seen the drop off, it looks like the water just stops, then there's something else happening, but not logical. I didn't explain that very well, but it has to do with how long focus shots bring everything into the same focus, and only if you've seen the actual thing, do you know that one is closer than the other.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about where they would be dumping the snow. Something to think about. Loved the pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou discover and learn something new everyday when you get out with your camera.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a glorious few days. YD was out on Sunday and cooked us a marvelous meal. But her dog got sulky about All That Snow and lay down and refused to hike. I find this hilarious, but am not telling the dog that.
ReplyDeleteI love the shadow pic. That is curious about where the snow is dumped. I never thought of that. The river would make sense if it weren't for the snow. A water treatment plant, maybe?
ReplyDeleteAll of our towns have dump sites just outside of town the piles have been pretty huge this year.
ReplyDeleteI love your shadow floating in the brush! Very eerie and cool. Also the shot of the two lovebirds!
I'm glad it warmed up a bit so you can get out more comfortably!
I too sometimes miss my morning walk in the winter because it's cold for us in the '60s, and dark. We also have have rainy periods in the winter time. I used to feel bad for the visitors when it rained on their vacations. But now I understand that even a rain is summery and delightful in short sleeves compared to where they've come from. Wishing you or all the best as always of Aloha
ReplyDeleteI like the shadow photographs and the river ice formation.
ReplyDeleteGreat shadow photos! Canada has my respect.
