Halloween Lemonade

I had a disappointing walk downtown last evening. I thought that with only a week to go until Halloween, the place would be duly decorated, but alas, it wasn't. There is a nice old mansion downtown that has become a multi-dwelling place. You know the type. I took a picture and used AI to change the setting and then add howling wolves and a ghost.

That's almost all there is. I did shoot a few store windows looking in vain for Halloween subjects, but they were totally uninspiring, so I trashed them when I got back home. However, upon leaving, I found a house on a side street with some typical Halloween stuff outside. It still left me feeling blah when I looked on the computer, so I made some additions up top.

The night seemed to hand me lemons, so I endeavoured to make Halloween Lemonade.

  1. OK, decorations were your goal apparently. So you decorated yourself with AI. Sorry you went to all the trouble of going out looking!

  3. That mansion is huge. I can't tell where it's original main entrance is located. Wonder about the history before it got split up inside. Linda in Kansas

    1. I believe that it was a doctor's house. There are two rather grnadiose former doctors' residences in town.

  4. Beautiful mansion!
Driving through the town closest to me is a Halloween barrage of decorations! Skeletons that are 10 feet tall ... skeletons and ghouls coming out of the ground, skeletons climbing store fronts and houses. Ghosts waving at you.
I haven't taken any photos of them, it just feels weird to me shooting a photo of someone's house.
    But it is Halloween overload!
One place has so many blow up decorations, it no longer has a yard!

  5. We do not see much for Halloween decorations around here unless we go into Rapid City. Most of the people around here with kids drive into town to trick or treat so I don't expect we will get any here.

  11. I have not checked out Perth, but it is usually quite good. The best is the back road, the one that runs paralled to the 509 ... if you turn at Balderson and then make your first right, it is that road. (Head is not giving me the road name,) There is a house with a hugely decorated yard and barn. Then if you turn right and head for Lanark on Couny 1, there is another amazingly ornate house on your left at the Iron Mine Road sideroad.
One year Lanark Village had a contest. That was fun.
