Gazing

The other night I dragged Cuppa to the park to try a photo technique that didn't work out very well. But I did get this photo of her, and I quite like it. The trees seem to have arranged themselves to make her the natural focal point as she gazes toward sun setting beyond the trees on the far side of the Mississippi river.

I was just reading Simply Coll who was observing that her blogging is taking a back seat to the great outdoors these day. It may be more of a winter activity for her, and I think that it's somewhat true for me too. I don't seem to want to write at either length or depth these days, but I do want to keep in touch by writing little blurbs and posting photos until the mood returns. Meanwhile, rest assured that I am following your own musings with bated breath, even when I choose to remain silent.

You are right, they bend exactly at angles to draw your eye to her.

Nice pic, and thanks for keeping us updated!

Just keep sharing your pictures of the beautiful area you live. We in the desert will be happy enough with that. In the winter, we will happily read all you have been thinking about while watching the snow.

She's the focus which is as it should be.

Maybe it is because I am a prairie girl.. but large trees humble me and leave me feeling in awe. This is a lovely picture of Cuppa sitting in a lovely setting.

That is the kind of photo I like, a pensive, relaxed Cuppa, surrounded by the strength and beauty of nature.

Anyone that has experienced a cold winter will appreciate the weather nowadays, and yes, blogging can wait.

That's a very nice photo, and an unusual portrait!

I too, have been Blogging in snippets, though for a far different reason. Where you are, it’s too inhospitable to be out in the middle of winter, whereas here, it’s too inhospitable to be out and about in the summer.

I too Blog in dribs and drabs for the sole purpose of “keeping in touch”.

Was just chatting with S. on the very topic of "little blogging" when the weather's so nice! Some of the best photos are ones we capture when we're looking for something else! And of course, when you start with a superior subject, how can you go far wrong??

Great photo - your favorite subject no doubt. The trees have very interesting bark patterns, greatly defined by the shadows. ec

Can't believe it; I swear I posted a comment here the other day, but I must have forgotten to push the publish button!

But basically it was about how much I love this photo, the peacefulness on Cuppa's face. I feel sorry for people who can't understand how just sitting in this type of atmosphere can relieve their tension, wipe their minds of worries, and even present a feeling of hope and rejuvenation, let alone the sheer relaxation and serenity it invokes. Aren't we fortunate? Go join her! Peace... Darlene

Ilove the big trees and it looks like such a power spot! Well done!
