A Non-Post

It seems that I am in a de facto blogging funk, for I've had nothing to say for a week now. At some point in time, the ideas, energy, enthusiasm, what've will come back. It might happen tomorrow or in three weeks.

Meanwhile, the last song that I posted was, in keeping with the occasion, somewhat lugubrious. In counterpoint, I offer a bouncy, high-energy, feel-good, meaningless ditty by Great Big Sea. It's called Mari-Mac. Enjoy.

  1. Start looking at the small stuff, like a child opening his hand to show a beetle, watching its legs squirm and right itself. We don't need profundity; we need to honor the ordinary. Its everywhere, waiting to be acknowledged.

  2. Can never get too much Great Big Sea! What better way to fill the time when your writing energy's lagging? :-) I haven't been feeling too prolific lately either.

  3. Just to clarify. Although I was unclear in the post, it's more that I don't feel like writing than that I don't know what to write about.

Well, just be happy you have access and that you *can* write when you feel inclined. I've had lots to write about lately, but precious little access in which to do it.

These days, getting in the internet is a Sunday morning at the coffee shop kind of thing. We bring my wife's laptop up there and get on their wireless. But, of course, there are 4 of us, and by the time Sunday rolls around, everyone has things they need to do. Last weekend the daughter had to do college applications online, so I sat there and read while she monopolized the computer, asking questions like, "What should I choose as a major?", and then promptly rejecting every suggestion. A very satisfying morning.

I can relate.. then suddenly out of the blue a thought comes.. and a post in born. It'll happen when it happens. :-)

But thanks for letting us know.. we (blogger family) tend to worry a little when we don't hear anything for a while.

  9. Just be thankful people still come to read yours, new stuff or not. I like to write, but seem to have run off most of my readers!

  11. I'm just relieved you're alright. I thought maybe it was your turn to have befallen a mighty bike crash.

Great Big Sea calls to my soul (probably because I'm half Newfie).

  12. I hope the writing thing comes back to you, AC. With both you and Cuppa "gone", I don't quite know what to do with myself!
