Weekend Thought

Sue constatly rotates seasonal decorations, mostly just little knickknacks. Almost as soon as Valentines was over, she put out the Easter-themed ornaments. Included in the assortment are two hugging bunnies on our dining room table.

In case you can't read the words: "You're no bunny / Til Some Bunny / Loves You."

Now, for any who are feeling unloved right about now, that's not true. You are a somebody, regardless. But it's a cute punny sort of saying, and I likes me a good pun. I also likes me a poor pun.

Have a nice weekend.

Tea Granny

Sue had an across the miles tea party with fellow blogger, Regenia. "What is that?" you ask. Well, Sue explains here.

Sue asked me to take some pictures of the event. I did so with her camera that was at hand, and she posted two on her blog.

Later, I had occasion to use my camera for another purpose, so I napped a few more of Sue while I was at it. Following is my favourite take, the original colour version plus a mono conversion. I slightly prefer the b&w, but I like both pictures of my favourite Tea Granny.

Boxing Lessons

How odd that both Sue and I received packages on the same day when both of us go for long periods without receiving any parcels.

Sue's parcel is the one at the back. It contained two large winter boots.

My only slightly smaller package is the one at the front. It contained the single very small purchase that I propped on the top for the photo. Even the inner box was large for the contents; you can see the space for the two, even smaller parts. It's good to send electronics securely, but my goodness!

Sue told the story of her boots here. Columbia Sportswear certainly came through for her.

Some of you may wish to know what the heck my Giga T Pro II is all about.

It's a remote control plus timer for my camera. One piece sits on top on the hotshoe (flash holder). The other piece I hold in my hand both to set the mode and to spring the shutter. Both pieces are shown below. And that's all that came in that huge box, along with the wire that you see and a slim manual.

When I set my camera on a tripod for low light shots, as I do very occasionally, I like to click the shutter remotely rather than jiggle the camera. It makes for a sharper photo.

It's also handy to have a timer. My camera can only give me a timed thirty seconds. I have found myself trying to count seconds out loud a few times when I want to go above thirty seconds, and this timer will do that ... and more ... such as setting a certain numer of shots and the duration in between frames and so on ...

I had a cheapie remote/timer that was hard to use and that didn't last.long anyway. Hopefully, this will fill a need for quite some time.

Buppa Don't Get No Love

JJ got into a printing mode from the PBS Kids site the other day. Excitedly, he kept asking, "Can I print one more?"

He brought the results to us. Sue received two sheets: "You are Special," and "I Love You." So nice, eh?

I also was gifted with two sheets; "Ugga Mugga" was the message on both.

I guess Buppa is not held in the same esteem as Amma.

Celebrating Bacon Sundays

I awoke at 4:30 on Sunday morning. Actually, I awoke somewhat earlier but got up at 4:30. Don't you hate it when that happens? It wouldn't be quite so irksome, if I had slept well before then, but it was kind of a fitful night.

Deciding to pamper myself, I grabbed a few bits of bacon from the fridge and had the bits with scrambled egg and toast.

It reminded me of a Sunday morning a long, long time ago.

I got up early enough for church. Needless to say, not many kids did that, so I pretty well had the huge cafeteria to myself.

Not having many diners, they piled copious quantities of bacon on my plate. I had never eaten much bacon because, according to mother, "It's fattening and doesn't have much food value."

She was right, of course, but I can tell you that the heaping plateful of bacon that morning was absolutely heavenly. More heavenly than the later service, for sure. lol

In fact, I have never looked at a pig the same way since.

Edit:  In response to Comments, I thought I might add that I was at Uni and it was the cafeteria there. It's amazing how a minor detail like that can flesh out the narrative.  lol

A Video That AC Should Have Kept Secret

I mentioned the "Can You Keep a Secret" game yesterday. This is a video of me taking the game to an extreme. I really should have enough pride to keep this video and my nonsensical antics a secret, but here we go anyway. With all apologies to embarrassed family members ...

Secrets

I was surprised when I visited your blogs yesterday. I had missed up to 6 posts from some people. Sometimes, I simply forget to engage Reader for a few days. Just for a change lol, I have a few photos to post.

This ↓↓ was JJ with secret agent, Brian, on Brian and Heather's visit 2 weeks ago.

Sometimes, the kids like to play "Can You Keep a Secret?" We tickle their hands and sing the words ending with "If you laugh, or if you smile, you can't keep a secret." As it turns out, they usually can't keep a secret.

Danica got very busy after school the other day, keeping her doings quite secretive until she was ready for the big reveal. She was quite proud of her creation. Me too.

Meanwhile, I keep peeking at the 14 day forecast, searching for a change in the weather. And the results are quite disappointing.

Possibly, two days may inch over the freezing point. This is not the news one hopes for after a winter like ours. And that's just the daytime temps. Look at the night line on the graph. When will the weather warm up? It's a secret.
