Swept

Yesterday morning, I heard a noise outside my window. I investigated in time to see the street sweeper go by, cleaning up the winter’s debris near the sidewalk where the snow gets piled. It’s almost a better sign than the return of the robins because some of those silly birds come back way too soon. Guy up the street was thrilled enough to post of the occasion on fb, and here I am blogging. Silly Canadians we be.

BTW, the front yard glacier has now been gone for a week, and it has been raining cats and dogs with no white stuff in view.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, but I heard another strange noise outside the other evening. I looked out to see two kids playing with balls, without coats. I am not sure when I last heard or saw such a thing.

  1. What a happy little avatar you are! But I have to say, just to look at him, I would have guessed he was you.

We have had torrential rains and storms rattling through, and I have had some wonderfully coatfree days. Saturday, we are supposed to have another round of them. SUNDAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO SNOW.😵‍💫

  3. Spring is definitely coming to your corner of the world. All the signs are there! I'd like to think the same here but next week some temps in the 20s. (Maybe that's at night but in any event, too low!)

  7. There’s something oddly satisfying about seeing the street sweeper come through, like winter’s finally being cleared away for good. Kids outside without coats is probably the clearest sign spring is really trying to show up.

  8. Snow and hail a few days ago and now 60s and 70s with sun. Spring is finally here for good? Hoping the same for you!

  9. Well, that's good. Hopefully things will warm up for you and stay that way for a while. I'm loving the cooler weather right now.

  11. Our weather certainly doesn't compare to yours, but I'm always amazed at soccer practice when all the girls are wearing shorts and practice jerseys (short sleeve) while all the parents are bundled up with jackets and still compaining about being cold!

  12. Excellent avatar image. Yes fingers must be crossed, and we're due for some cold coming again at night in a few days, so not all plants are outside yet from their winter huddle by the windows inside.

  13. Spring is coming your way! Enjoy! We’re getting a bit of rain here, and I love it. (Not today, but last weekend, and maybe next week.)

  15. We pay for the street sweeper in my town and I have to call them to come clean the street. I do like your avatar. Very nice indeed.

  16. We had a beautiful day today and it is still mild as I write this. We are down to one snow pile, the big one where the roof shovellers deposited a lot, and one tiny one behind the stone wall at the gate. I have not found crocus, but very soon now there will be
