I have one more Celtfest video to share with you. I promise this is the last.
This one features a trio of Irish dancers, which is quite a different style from the local stepdancing seen in the previous post. It also features a group of Francophone musicians from the province next door, Quebec. The group is called Le Vent du Nord, which pretty well translates as Northwind. They were good both instrumentally and vocally; the audience loved them. Finally, we have more of the headline group, The American Rogues, and their awesome drummer, Catherine Hauke.
just love the guy who can click his heels and keep playing fiddle! :)
ReplyDeleteJohn, what an amazing video...I watched it all the way through. Love that dance, and enjoyed that one fiddler who kept his feet moving the entire time. That one instrument with the crank...had never seen that before. Thanks for sharing a delightful time!
ReplyDeleteHi AC...my old computer doesn't get videos but I can imagine how much you enjoyed the fiddlers. Do you still play the violin?
ReplyDeleteGoing back a few posts I had the same experience as you, while out shopping about 6 months ago I looked in a store window and saw this old lady staring at me ! Oh,no, IT WAS ME !!!
AC, I hope you guys give me fair warning next year for Celtfest. Love this stuff
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is great! How do they hold their arms so stiff at their sides while tapping? Reminds me of a SNL skit long ago...
ReplyDeleteThis is better than the earlier ones. The Hurdey Gurdey is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteAhah! I thought that was a hurdy-gurdy.... Adrian got there before me!
ReplyDeleteI loved every minute of this video, when's the next Celtfest? I want to be there, seriously!
