Every now and then, Amazon Photos sends me a short slideshow, the most recent one featuring Sue and yours truly in various photos from June 2019 to just recently. Not too surprisingly, we're sometimes drinking coffee in the car. :)

We kept on walking to The Junction where we perched at a picnic table to sip our coffee. Unlike on the first visit of the season two weeks ago, there were hordes of young kids and parents around the play structure. You are not going to see them per se in the background because I focused on the coffee cup with a wide aperture in portrait mode and the background is very much blurred.
I have not used Amazon photos but it is nice that this slide show was compiled and sent to you.
ReplyDeleteI don’t really use it. It is just part of the Prime package. It grabs my photos and sends me slideshows every now and again.
DeleteA slideshow from years passing quietly like that can be surprisingly grounding, almost like being reminded of a rhythm you’re still very much part of.
ReplyDeleteI also like the small details you picked out, the coffee in the car, the walk, the stop at the picnic table. It all feels familiar in a way that many people would recognise from their own routines, especially when the weather starts inviting more time outside again. The fire engine moment adds a nice bit of contrast too, just life happening in the middle of an otherwise simple walk. Did it feel like one of those outings where nothing dramatic happens, yet you come back from it feeling better than when you left.
Not so sure, but the COVID shots with Sue’s longer hair and my bigger beard do bring back more memories than most.

ReplyDeleteI really should look at the FB slideshows but I never do! This sounds like one to check out. I really like how you focused on the cup in the photo and fuzzed out the background. It really works!

ReplyDeleteMy iPhone makes me slide shows sometimes, with music--and I enjoy watching them. I don't remember getting any from Google.
ReplyDeleteI am no techie so don't really know how Amazon has access to your photos. it is nice to look back at the images though.
