I do most of the grocery shopping and do well enough for the most part, but there are exceptions.
I purchased French Coffee because it was on sale. Right now, I am glad that I don't live in France. I don't normally put sugar in my coffee, but even with sugar, this coffee is too bitter for me. Live and learn . . . perhaps.
We tried
Chapmans Premium ice cream,
Chocolate with Salty Caramel & Peanuts. It was quite special. After finishing the container, I carefully chose it again on my next shopping outing. When it was time to treat ourselves to a dish, I discovered that I had picked up
Butter Pecan instead. It was very good but not what I wanted. I do this too often, reach for one item but look away and grab the wrong one. It's a silly habit that has sometimes led to very weird things in my shopping cart.
Bought some brats for the bbq. Cooked them, took a bite and found my mouth aflame. I did consume a few but passed the rest on to JJ who likes things spicy. I don't mind a bit of heat, so I tolerated it to some extent, but my spicy wife doesn't like spicy food, so off half of the sausages went to my grandson.
The final item isn't shopping related, but I didn't expect to have to put on the heater to warm up the bathroom sufficiently for a shower in the middle of June. It really is disappointing for the mid-year shower that I look forward to every year. I will now have to live in anticipation of my annual autumn shower. :)
What an interesting ice cream dilemma. And ice for your quarterly bath as well! I usually have the "slide to the side for the wrong thing" happen with words. The other day I clearly said the yard was being vacuumed, rather than mowed, when talking on the phone. I had absolutely no idea where that came from, and said so, since I heard myself say it. Sometimes I don't even hear it, and people say something back to bring my attention to it. Friends must be used to it by now.
ReplyDeleteYeahhhh I have done that at the store too. You are right, a bit disappointing. Coffee is so expensive here that buying anything but the least expensive is out of the question. However, last year when I heard coffee was going up in price I did stock up on the brand I like. No spicy for me but Mr. M. loves spicy hot.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can relate! I have jalapeno potato chips in the pantry right now, who put those in my cart? Plain or BBQ I can understand. I'm convinced another shopper thought it was their cart.
ReplyDeleteIn Italy they have tiny shots of espresso. It sounds lethal
ReplyDeleteI love French roast! The more bitter, the better as far as coffee goes is concerned for me!
ReplyDeleteHmm. You only take a shower at mid-year?!? I have heard of folks who take a bath once a week…. whether they need it or not…. but never only biannually. 😉
PipeTobacco
I don't think I quite understand the shower one but the others I can relate to. I buy medium roast; dark roast is sometimes too bitter for me although it's John's preference. I haven't had butter pecan for a long time (like it) but the one you were supposed to get sounds heavenly!
ReplyDeleteThat ice cream looks good. I hear you on the heater. Last night I used both down comforter and quilt to sleep in!
