Bloodroot and Hyacinth

You may recall that, when we visited bloodroot wildflowers previously, they were closed. We returned, hoping for a different outcome. Happily, they were open on that overcast day, bringing light to our souls. I did my stooping thing, so whomsoever recently chided for mistreating my back, has another opportunity. The thing is that I don’t necessarily wish to get down and dirty my trousers

I think my attempt was successful, and, fortunately, I feel no more back pain than usual in the aftermath.

We also passed by the English lady's garden to check in on the more domesticated spring flowers. (Two crops of the same photo with much editing as the spirit led me.)

  1. Those photos look well worth the bending down! I love hyacinths, and bought a bulb garden with four of them in it (I'll plant them for next year). I've been plugged up ever since and should move it -- but they're so pretty I just can't!

  3. So glad to finally find your post (blogger is not listing my favorite blogs in the right hand column where I usually (daily!) find your posts! You've got magnificent bloodroot flowers...and thanks for suffering (I hope very little) for your art!!

  4. I love your take on the Blood Root. I hadn't done an angle like that in years! I love the textures that show up on the leaves and I failed to get any good shots of the leaves this year.

    Those hyacinths are beautiful.

  9. These are really pretty, and since you shared them the first time, I don't think I have ever seen Bloodroot before. Hope the back pain isn't too much of an issue.

  11. I get it, AC, and also do not want to kneel to capture small flowers, but you did get results of the open blooms and without further back issues, a success!

  14. I agree with Granny Sue. That IS a gorgeous photo of bloodroot. I can't remember if I've ever seen it. Granted, I might have seen it but didn't know what it was called. Happy Spring to you and Sue!

  15. I think I have some of them in one of my garden plots. Will check on them tomorrow. Weather to be warm - a good day to be outside getting the gardens ready for growing.
