We were pleased with our warm day and even cracked open a window for the first time in months. Our walk was reasonably pleasant although there was still a stiff breeze.
We strolled amongst the back bridges where we cross the river more than once. It is whitewater time, but I think the melting of the snow has been gradual this year, so the river is not running as high as it has in other years. I took this picture looking down from the trail bridge.
We walked around to Gillies Bridge from the trail bridge where I captured water flowing through one of the conduits made by the bridge supports.
We'll keep checking, but if the freezing rain that they are threatening does eventuate, it will be hard on the poor dears. We will return periodically and keep you posted, for the crocus season is fleeting.
That first whitewater picture is a real beauty!
ReplyDeleteThose water photos are just fantastic, they speak volumes of the wild waters and I can almost hear the rushing sounds.
ReplyDeleteMy crocus flowers are done, but the daffies and the tulips are starting to poke up as we head into a snow/sleet/freezing rain/ and thunderstorm event. Well March will leave like a lion I guess.
The exit is somewhat lambish here -- not exactly nice but at least rainy rather than snowy.
DeleteI love crocus. Around here it's only a few hours before robins tear them apart, so you have to be quick to pic.
ReplyDeleteLoved the white water. But the background of trees for the croci just makes them seem so regal...so welcome against the winter bleakness! And I imagine somehow you got a camera down on ground level too!
ReplyDeleteI think I set a 10 second timer and tried to get the phone in a reasonable space while the seconds ticked off.

DeleteYou southern Canadians will soon be planting flowers. (Yes, your crocuses are gorgeous!). Remember, the cosmos will only start to bloom in early August, but they will bloom right till freeze-up. Good luck! -Kate
