To the great delight of the ladies, Winners has come to town. Since it opened in late September, there have always been cars in the parking lot, and when one goes inside, one sees almost only ladies. The occasional blokes that I do see look as stunned as I feel.
Added Note: Apparently, Winners is a Canadian discount chain, but I would have to say that it is an upscale discount chain.
The ladies, however, are as pleased as punch, including the beloved one.
It’s a surprisingly large store. Sometimes, a smaller town like ours will get an outlet that is smaller than a city store of the same ilk. Our WM, for example, is not tiny, but neither is it as large as the one at Centrum. It’s the same with our Marks franchise.
Back outside, there is a puzzling thing in the parking lot.

Never heard of that store. Your Dad joke is great.
ReplyDeleteJust checked. Apparently, it is just Canadian, a kind of upscale discount store if that makes any sense. I might edit the post to include this info.
DeleteWe have a similar store in the sense that I’ve never seen another guy in it when I’ve been in there, called Hobby Lobby.
ReplyDeletePerhaps those handicap spots are for those with motorized wheelchairs.
Those stores can be fun to browse in. However, I'm not a browser. People have told me that I shop like a man--on a mission to get what I need and then OUT.
ReplyDeleteI don't shop Winners for clothing, but I love their Home Sense and Marshall stores for housewares and all kinds of wonderful items! Their prices are fairly reasonable. Love your photos, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that it opened before Christmas. Sue always looks so fashionable!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in a Winners for years. Shopping is such a chore.
ReplyDeleteHmm. "Winners" does not look like a place I would consider feeling a "winner" in if I had to spend a lot of time there. :) Do they at least have a bench or two where us fellows can sit and park ourselves?
ReplyDeleteI can admit that I USED to relish spending literal HOURS in the various hardware stores (including our "big box" forms). Roaming around in those stores would spur my creativity to try to jury-rig things for my lab and behavior apparati for my various rodents and other creatures. But, even hardware stores feel disconcerting these days. I hate to say, but most of my (limited) shopping is now either just the grocery store.... or Amazon.
The end cap jokes the last several days!!!!!! I have loved them all.
PipeTobacco
A vast, well-stocked retail space that has instantly become a social and commercial magnet for women, while most men wander through it looking politely bewildered and faintly out of place
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to shop. I have never heard of them before. You're right, the Accessible parking spaces are very odd so far away from the entrance. Thanks for the dad chuckle.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good store.
ReplyDeleteI too have spent time with my spouse in her favourite stores. Before cell phones, this was quite tedious for me too, but it looks like you made the best of it (which is always the right decision when your partner has different interests, iyam).
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this store but it looks like one I would love too. Yeah, I'm in the 5% too. LOL
ReplyDeleteBahaaaaaa! I love that meme. sums me up, alright!
