Dis 'n Dat

This ↓ was posted on BlueSky by a reporter that I follow. The other place he refers to X. He is talking about the difference between the two platforms.

The difference between here and there is when you answer a question here it goes well and when you answer one there you almost always regret that you had any confidence in people.

And when it goes so well, you just keep answering questions and feel better about the hearts and souls of ppl.

Nice.

I concur with the difference between Blue and X. I use BlueSky to follow certain subjects, people and events. I do not use it or any social media to engage although I chip in a comment on the rare occasion.

===========================

I am inserting this at the last minute before publishing. It’s another BlueSky post, this from an American who is now a Canadian citizen.

Every day, I ask myself the same unanswerable question: How could Americans be so fucking stupid?

This is a clown government. It doesn't pretend to be serious. It's guerrilla theatre, staged by idiots. It tears down, it never builds up.

And you fucking voted for it.

===========================

I have to think a little bit about some jokes before I get them. I appreciate the cleverness once the penny drops.

A  photo from a dull and snowy walk in the neighbourhood park. We seem to be experiencing many such days.

  1. I'm not familiar with either social media platform so can't relate.

    I think the citizens of our country are quite good at tearing down our country as can be seen by that comment and others which is why people like our current occupant got elected. We truly are a government that represents our citizens.

  2. I haven't used either sight. The jokes are great! I actually laughed. Out loud.

  3. I don't go near either platform. I'm active, in fact a founder member, on Spoutible, A friendly and intelligent platform where trolls and haters are banned, yay, but good discussion is fostered.

    1. I'm inadequately trying to say that BlueSky is a pretty good place. :)

  4. Good post. I wondered the same thing when the orange scumbag got elected the first time. Since he's been back, the US has promoted everything that made the US a racist, woman-hating country in the past. Every time his incoherent rants demean blacks, women, really anyone not a white male republican, his fans applaud. I'm 80, and never dreamed we'd sink this far into the cesspool.

  5. Politicians have always been untrustworthy, in my opinion. But those who follow the orange quackery seem extremely stupid! I didn’t have much luck with blue sky, and seemed to have better information by just signing up for different newsletters that come to my email inbox. But of course that doesn’t have the social interaction of making comments, Which I do enjoy here on blogger!

  6. I was on Twitter until Musk took over, then left speedily. I looked into BlueSky, but decided I really didn't have time for another social media. Blogger and Facebook are plenty, and even FB gets to be a bit much. But it's how I can keep in touch easily with my family that stretches from Australia to California.

    1. The advantage of FB is that more or less everyone is there. The disadvantage is the um stuff to wade through. Sky is good for following more than chatting. That is how I see it anyway.

  7. I don't try either of them. Or Facebook.

  8. I looked into Bluesky but didn't think it would work for me. I have been on FB since it started for my business, (lost to covid) now I only go there once in awhile. I have to agree with the American turned Canadian. What saddens me most is that the "thing" in the white house has damaged America to the point of possibly no return.

  9. I dropped twitter and facebook a few years back, when it all turned into a dumpster. Initially twitter was great. I do like instagram, but I fear the increase of ads will really muck it up to the point of dumping that, too.
