As planned, we walked to the cafe at 11 o'clock for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. We enjoyed the S'Mores coffee blend as we waited for our breakfast to appear. Meanwhile, I did my standard thing and took a quick portrait of my lady friend.
Once again, there were apologies. Once again, it was okay.
After a lazy afternoon, we made our way over to the kids' for the usual family get-together for gifts, pizza and cake.
Sue made a little collage. Yes, she did want some Legos for her photography. Shauna sourced some from online. I hadn't a clue about how to obtain Legos.

Loved seeing all your portraits…and hearing the story about the breakfast bumbles. Many more happy birth anniversaries are wished for Sue!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an almost perfect day! Did you get free coffee after all that?
ReplyDeleteThe server was a bit over her head, I'd say. I'm glad the day went well otherwise. Sue has such stylish hair, very chick!
ReplyDeleteSue made quite a haul! And she looks lovely in every way. What a great day for you both!
ReplyDeletePanache. That's the word for the birthday lady! May there be many, many more.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was a good day for Sue and the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteI hope the sandwiches were delicious after that wait, lol. The server was having a day!
ReplyDeleteYou are very patient and kind. I would be the same. Working in food service is not for the faint hearted. Sue has a serene beauty that I wish I could emulate. I am far from serene!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day 😊
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait, and happy birthday to Sue. Sounds like your server might have been having difficulty focusing!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great family!
ReplyDeleteYou really are the most wonderful portrait photographer, John. I do love your gorgeous photo of your beautiful other half.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, your wife is beautiful! Back when I was a waitress, I put the ticket back in my pocket accidentally once, instead of turning it in to the kitchen. It was quite a while before I figured it out, and the customers were really mean to me. I think they felt really bad about it later because they left me a big tip. (Maybe they were hangry?)
