It was Sunday morning, and I was ambling through the book of face, after having checked out blogs and other news. I did cometh across numerous t-shirt posts, at least a half-dozen. There was nary a red shirt to be seen. What is wrong with people‽
That was after my Sleepwatch app told me that I enjoyed 8.5 hours of sleep on the previous night. Well, I hadn’t. When I checked the timeline, it had me sleeping from abut 8:30pm onward when I had simply been sitting in my chair and doing tablety things, like I am doing right now, until after 11pm. The adjusted sleep time should be closer to 6 hours.
Two days prior to that, it did the opposite: cheated me out of 3 hours. I had gone potty in the middle of the night, as one does, and gone back to sleep for 3 hours afterwards, but it didn’t recognize those hours. Until it did. It was much later in the day, nearly evening, when it finally granted me those 3 hours.
I am reminded of the time when I got up early and was up for at least 2 hours, but I think it was actually 3, before going to the dentist. It was a long appointment, and the app decided to award me 2 extra hours of sleep when I can assure you, I was quite awake in the blasted chair.
The app usually works well and most often aligns with what I experience, but it does have its occasional hiccups.
Speaking of sleep, I fell asleep 3x when playing Sudoku before bed. By that I mean that I caught my head bobbing 3x. I often play a game or 3 of Sudoku last thing at night to tire out my brain; occasionally, nodding ensues. Sometimes, I just stop the game and roll over, but I kept playing after nodding on that night, and weirdly enough, I didn’t make any mistakes.
After I wrote that ↑ yesterday morning, we found some more greening, on both sides of the river from the main bridge.

Ha, I found your post! Blogger linked yesterday's still, but I wouldn't believe it. And so your sleep app is also misbehaving. Mmm, I figured the other day that every planet had gone retrograde, and we were just the one and only still going around the sun in the correct direction...or maybe the magnetic poles are shifting. But whatever is happening, it is distracting from normal. Loved the last shot with the yellow chairs and willow fronds!
ReplyDeleteRick does the suduko in bed thing too. I'm more for a book! In any event, hope the sleep thing rights itself! Tech!
ReplyDeleteConcerns about not sleeping are bad enough , but when the monitor fails that's the last straw.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you have such a hard time sleeping. I do like your photos and hope you have a good day today.
ReplyDeleteI struggled so hard with a crossword (labeled "easy") yesterday. My brain is like chewed up gum, I need to be diligent on daily brain games. Jeez. Everything is greening up, it's truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the green popping out.
ReplyDeleteYay for more green! I've worn a sleep tracker a couple times, but am not sure I want to know how much sleep I've been getting. There's always coffee!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of with Margaret. I'm not sure I would do anything during the day differently knowing how much or how little I slept the night before. I just try to practice good sleep habits and how much is whatever happens.
ReplyDeleteThat is a shame it doesn't work. I am with Margaret, as well, if I'm tired I can sleep!
ReplyDeleteBetween a sleep app that hallucinates naps, a red-shirt drought, and Sudoku-induced micro-comas, it seems reality is running on beta mode while you’re the only one keeping proper logs
ReplyDeleteI understand sleep struggles. The pictures are nice.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely trees!
ReplyDeleteIMAGINE 8.5 hours! Those were the days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I enjoyed the mix of everyday observations here, from unreliable sleep apps to those small, satisfying signs of spring returning. There’s something familiar about nodding off mid-Sudoku and still managing to carry on without mistakes. Did the greening by the river feel like a proper turning point for the season?
ReplyDeleteI suppose you could take up strong drink.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I could never quite sort out the sodukos. My favorite puzzles are the cryptograms.
I need an app that catches me micronapping and jolts me out of it. When this happens, if I am reading (most usual), I will wake up with plot detail of the book that has not happened except in my dismal excuse for a brain.
ReplyDeleteI bet I would just suck at Sudoku in that form. I do one, one, first thing in the morning and go on to Wordle. And that took me to my last try. I had four letters in proper order but was missing the first letter. Eight choices. I guessed and guessed again. Wrong. I think the skilled thing to do is to put in one word with as many as possible of the missing first on your board. Obviously, skill level very low on analysis.
Oh, and the sugar maples are in tiny leaves.
ReplyDeleteIn some areas around us the green is similar ro yours, because those places had tge freeze last week. So odd to see that difference just a few miles from home.
ReplyDeleteI often do the Waffle challenge before bed. Best I can get is 4, and tgat has only happened 2 or 3 times.
