On a chilly and rainy Sunday, we drove the very short distance to Dark & Deadly where Sue used her gift card for free drinks. Grampa thanks Danica for Sue's Mother's Day gift. :)
For the first time, on this particular day, the coffee was poured for us and served in real mugs. I think they were poured because our order required an infusion of chocolate.
Speaking of mugs, I couldn't help but play with the iPhone. Even though the shots were of mugs and not a person, I nevertheless, decided to use portrait mode to see how they would turn out. We can access interesting special light modes that way.
There was a new greeter whom I could see perfectly from my seat next to the door. I took three different photos using different light modes and combined them later.
While I wanted to show the three versions next to one another for comparison purposes, the one on white just didn't fit. So . . .

Those are some really great pieces you photographed and I think they turned out great.
ReplyDeleteYes, cellphones have come a long way baby!
You did mugshots.
ReplyDeleteVery clever.
DeleteYou do have fun with your photos! Oh very good, Boud!
ReplyDeletePhones have really advanced...wonder what the future holds!

What a ghoulish place to drink a good coffee. Not my taste, though if the coffee is good enough...
ReplyDeleteExcellent photography in a creepy kind of way :) Danica is the tops!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of creepy 😳 pieces.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. Your iPhone camera is superior to my current android!
ReplyDeleteStrange time of year for a Halloween theme at the restaurant, isn't it? -Kate
ReplyDeleteIt's Halloween everyday of every year at Dark & Deadly.
DeleteThe mugs are splendid. I like the different light modes on the iPhone, too, but am not nearly as adept as you.
ReplyDeleteThose are cool mugs, chocolate infusion? Yes!
ReplyDeleteWell you know I love this post. The mugs are fabulous. Great photos. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I watched a documentary about a guy challenged to take a picture of the same tree every day for a year using only an iPhone. What he produced was amazing and it was a really deep dive into all the features that come with the standard camera app that I never really explore or use.
ReplyDeleteWhat kinda place is this?
ReplyDeleteCreepin it real indeed, ha.
ReplyDeleteThat is a place with atmosphere. I like that last shot.
ReplyDeleteI need an iPhone tutorial! You have a 17 though and I only have a 16. My older two grandsons have orange t-shirts that say "Creep it real." Although they're for Halloween, they wear them year round.
ReplyDeleteThat stuff you can do on the 16, I think. Optics are upgraded on the 17 and the selfie lens, but I believe the portrait modes are the same. But I should check before I spout off. :)
DeleteYes. Just checked. :)
DeleteGreat mugs--and is that the actual greeter?
ReplyDeleteI mean, not a real person?
DeleteJust a dummy near the door. I called him the greeter.
DeleteWhat a great place to not only enjoy a coffee, but also to have fun with the cell phone features and portrait mode is a good one. I also like the name of the place, but wondered if you or Sue preferred it to Tim’s.
ReplyDeleteIt's a better place to sit and relax with coffees, but ordinarily, I am a Tim's guy. The chocolate infusion was very nice though.
DeleteI need to look into the features for the camera. I never have done. You did good.
ReplyDeleteYou sure take great photos.
