They will make it through the winter, down here, but not the hot summer. I hope we are not all in competition with the flowers, sometimes mine look good and sometimes they look kind of pitiful.
QMMAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6998770.post-87776577844646629482010-06-13T16:48:19.587-04:002010-06-13T16:48:19.587-04:00I was attracted to the flowers, but I have a posta...I was attracted to the flowers, but I have a postage stamp garden so can't respond in kind. Since it was decorative, it didn't had a flap backdoor to clean it out, so we now block up the entryway when we put it/them out. We still have to get them out this year.Anvilcloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07974744042579564912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6998770.post-82544718757900562712010-06-13T09:57:16.739-04:002010-06-13T09:57:16.739-04:00I was just remembering that when i first meet you ...I was just remembering that when i first meet you as a blogger (4 years now?)...your photos were full of birds! amazing photos of birds in and around your home. say hello to your birds for me. :-)Kathy Trejohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08320525571609595412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6998770.post-41294180945412166992010-06-13T09:52:50.792-04:002010-06-13T09:52:50.792-04:00Love seeing the colors and flowers in there photos...Love seeing the colors and flowers in there photos of yours.

How Does Your Garden Grow? you ask?
Naturally...we have a shortage of water here...so plants don't get much rain either here in long beach. Perhaps, our climate is not the best for these flowers. Maybe they do better in a place with somewhat more moderate summers.

Donna and Beatrice: You know, I hadn't seen grackles around here until we hung the flippin feeder.Anvilcloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07974744042579564912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6998770.post-23029439734913984882010-06-12T08:40:08.421-04:002010-06-12T08:40:08.421-04:00Perhaps all the peonies need is a shady spot?Perhaps all the peonies need is a shady spot?Jinksyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01686101468214361004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6998770.post-13852596745873513882010-06-12T07:50:05.781-04:002010-06-12T07:50:05.781-04:00Disheartening to learn that grackles are being so ...Disheartening to learn that grackles are being so greedy other places too. Here at the F&P I stopped filling the feeders because grackles would come and feed until they emptied everything and also frighten off any other bird. It's a pity because I used to enjoy watching cardinals, finches, sparrows at the feeders. My solution now is not to fill them as the grackles and blackbirds are too annoying and greedy.Beatrice P.
