Whatever one thinks of AI, it is here for better or worse. I have found it very helpful in some searches. It also assists me to so some things faster in photo editing — things that I could once do manually (or in theory I could) but I can do faster and better with AI. For example: if I want to brighten a person just a little, I can do it more efficiently with AI, which can select and mask the person, so that I can then do what I wish: ie brighten. While I, supposedly, could always do that before, selecting manually was both time-consuming but also not as accurate.
As is my wont, I got carried away with the background info in the first ↑ paragraph, so onto my little presentation for the day.
While I was lingering (not malingering) up in my den with my wonky back, Sue was attending to the planters — getting them ready for the bedding annuals that we shall soon purchase. She happened to look up into the tree where she spied a very pretty kittycat that had navigated itself to a spot where the young robins like to hang out.

Pretty cat, but determined. Your AI experience was valuable and interesting.
ReplyDeleteYour work with the cat's eyes looked much better than the AI version. As an artist, I have great disdain for AI...wanting things to be created by people, not machines. However there are certainly benefits to be gained. Also missing a cat companion today, I feel much the same as you with your Lacey.
ReplyDeleteThat's fascinating! I have a love-hate relationship with AI, so good to see some of its plusses. I know you miss Lacey terribly. Big hugs to you both.
ReplyDeleteI think AI is like many other things. We're all going to have to learn to use it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty kitty.
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid AI. ;-)
Oh, what a cute kitty. I totally agree that AI can be helpful, and I hope especially in the medical field. Sweet Lacey.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty! She's(he's?) a beauty! I'm sure I use AI without knowing it. That disturbs me since I want it to be a deliberate choice.
ReplyDeleteDo you know whose kitty this is? Might it be a stray you could consider adopting?
ReplyDeletePipeTobacco
Impressive photo, love how the kitty is looking though the branches.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cat. Looking for a home, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteLingering (not malingering) would be a great t-shirt slogan. Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I want that t-shirt. Very nice and clever fix with kitty. I also have been delving into AI as you have probably guessed by my post yesterday. More for whimsy than anything. My dear other half uses it for research and checks on the research over and over again. So, we have dipped our toes into the AI world. In some ways I am a little freaked out about its potential, but it's here to stay.
ReplyDeleteEsse gato é, de facto, um animal de grande beleza.
ReplyDeleteAbraço de amizade.

A very elegant and polished portrait of her
ReplyDeleteAI seems unavoidable. You did a good job with the kitty.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried AI. Can an old guy learn new tricks?
ReplyDeleteI’m not young.
DeleteWe always remember them, in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteWell done with your AI work.
I thought that the eye improvement lost some of the character, but, yeah, it is a lot easier. In take two, where the centre of both eyes is just that tiny bit bigger, it seems to me to turn the cat's look from sad to merely contemplative.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I note that the sheer amount of what you do is amazing. You deserve AI.
I have used AI to edit the rare photo but am too lazy to do it most of the time. Like you though, I am impressed at how easily and fast it can do things that I either didn't have the ability to do anymore with my limited software or took me hours when I had some more sophisticated software. I don't have near the eye you do when it comes to photography so I mostly just show my pictures warts and all.
