First Snow and Last Fence

Somewhat fortuitously, our first snow earlier this week resulted in a photo with a fence in it. So, with one shot I am able to acknowledge the first snow of winter and Tex's last fence meme as she heads into blog retirement, or at least partially.

I took this on Sunday at the beginning of the storm which got severe enough to cancel school buses on Monday.

It is a 4-shot combination panorama (2 across) and vertorama (2 up) that Lightroom stitched together seamlessly. Impressive software.

I converted this to mono but it didn't look that much different in colour except for the house on the right.

BTW it is snowing again today. Oddly enough, just before this weather change last Sunday, we were exalting in the mild temperatures.

So, good job Tex and good luck in the future.

It's hard to think of snow right now..but I know it is coming. I will truly miss Tex and her blog.

I have never tried a panorama. Maybe this winter I will step out of my box.

we got our second skiff of the stuff last night, but it's only left in the shadowed areas, like my front yard.

I don't remember a thanksgiving that's been snow free before. Nor as mild a november. it was 66 a week ago.

Cheers,
Mike

I think you had a lot more snow than we did, but it's all gone now! But the snow tires and the ice scraper and the winter boots are all ready for action!

We only had a dusting of snow earlier this week and are actually looking forward to more significant amounts because we actually enjoy winter. But we understand how many others don't share our enthusiasm. And, yes that is some awesome software program.

We've had drizzle all day, although I do see snow on the mountains in the not too far distance. Perhaps a tour is in order to catch some snowy photos at this end. In the mean time I will just have to enjoy yours.

Yes. Last one. I used to like the memes but I never seemed to have a topic that fit, except critters!
