The Wool Growers Coop

If you are beginning to ascertain that it was a busy weekend with our company, your are correct. Sue had noticed, as only Sue can notice, that there was a great sale on at the Wool Shop Boutique. It's quite a classy clothing shop attached to the rather unrefined Wool growers Coop.

While the ladies availed themselves of the bargains, Brian and I wandered around the wool warehouse with great interest. We were very pleased that it was open, and no one seemed to mind us wandering about with our cameras.

The Coop was once a railway maintenance station, but is now the wool grading station for the whole country — right here in our little town. It was crammed full of bales, more so that on my visit last summer.

This might be my favourite photo from the weekend: a cat nestled amongst the bales. I am sure that the felines keep themselves well fed on the ubiquitous mice.

I found a desk that I thought was interesting.

There is also an equestrian centre within the structure, selling cowboy boots, among other things.

Finally, before being off to other places, I took this photo of the window and wall outside the equestrian centre. I don't know why windows and walls appeal to me, but they do.

Awesome building in there never seen the inside of a wool growers , Ok how do you grow wool ? lol . When we were on our farm we would collect the wool after the sheep were sheered my mum would hand come the wool with cardingcomes and spin it in the spinning wheel and a then she would give it to a friend who then dyed it and it was ready for sale . Lovely photos . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !

Such an interesting place, not only the wool part, but the structure itself, built for railroad cars! Please let me say, very, very respectfully, that you forgot the important part. What bargains did Sue and her sister find?

It just occurred to me that it would be interesting to learn how you organize and keep track of your photographs.

Delightful! The desk is my favourite. Hat hung on a nail. A "real" workspace. Love the clock. This image reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting.

neat place! i'd probably be sneezing and itching like crazy, though (allergic to wool).

What a candy store for photography. I would love to wander around there and then later shop, of course. I LOVE cowboy boots, so that would have taken some really effort to get me away from those.

Regenia - Sue here...fashions were 75% off!! I got two sweaters and a shawl. Heather got two shawls and gloves. It was so much fun to see the final prices ring up on the cash register. I take a picture or two and put them up on my blog later....stay tuned.

Well, the cat certainly found a warm place with all that wool!

Fascinating look inside the wool station. The red window is a wonderful image. I'd love a pair of those camouflage boots!
