First Storm

From our bedroom window ...

As far as winter storms go, it didn't amount to much, but for October it was enough to give us pause. It was also a little worse than it looks because the driveways and roads got pretty icy. SIL is anxious about getting his winter tires on because he does a lot of driving, but, naturally, everyone is thinking the same thing, and tire places are booked. But the snow will soon be gone because temperatures will go up to 11°C (52°F) on Friday, which should result in a decent Halloween for the kiddies. We don't usually bother with winter tires until mid to late November; hopefully, this storm was a one-off, and that schedule will still be viable this year.

Hopefully everyone will be safe today and that you are indeed correct and this is an anomaly. In the meantime it's pretty. I'm sure it won't be anymore sometime in April . . .

I was so excited to wake up and see all the snow this morning. I was surprised at how much had actually accumulated through the night. We were outside playing in it this morning - Rachel even made a snowman :)

Stay warm & cozy!

We are having a wonderful Autumn - sunny and cold. It really is most unlike the Pacific NW. Making the most of it though as the rain is due to return on Friday.

What fun for the little one. I hope you will be out in the snow with her teaching her the finer points of making a snowman, throwing snow balls and making an snow angel in the new snow.

And I'm envious why? Giving head a shake. I get excited like a kid though and jump and patty-cake. I'm a freak.

You had more snow than we did, but ours stuck around all day...brrrr! Too cold for October.

Does this portend a nasty winter, do you suppose?

The view from your bedroom window is very pretty. We didn't get any snow, but London did with between 4 and 6 inches, according to the news tonight.

Hope you have fun with the wee one in the snow this winter, but hopefully we won't get anymore until near the end of November. Crossing my fingers.

Blessings,
Mary

That is so amazing! Now I can see the need for those markers on your fire hydrants - I would love to see a photograph of them when they are nicely covered. (if you don't mind, ofcourse!)
