No Lyin, A Lion

I'm not lyin when I tell you that March has come in like a Lion. We began the month with a somewhat significant snowfall that Nice Neighbour blew out for us. Today, we are expecting freezing rain, and predictions call for more snow later this week. There is a mountain of white on our tiny, shared front lawn; it bears an accumulation from two driveways after all. If we hadn't enjoyed quite a bit of melting early in January, I don't know where we'd be putting it now. Surely the spring melt will begin soon. The good thing about the Lion is that according to common tradition s/he shall transform into a Lamb by the month's end, and I'd rather enjoy that at month's end than endure the opposite.

I did get out of the house for a bit of a drive and a wee visit with Nikki-Dee yesterday, but back twinges prevented me from driving too far and or visiting for too long. However, it seems to be slowly mending itself, but I thought that last week too before regressing late in the week. It seems that the combination of weather and the back will keep me somewhat quiet and somewhat housebound for another few days at least.

Be careful not to slip and fall on the ice. That would set your healing back somewhat.

Is that 'good neighbour" with the snow blower also available for therapeutic back rubs?

Sorry you're still having back problems. Hope it's better soon...

:) ...but I bet that visit with your little Nikki-Dee cheered you up anyway!

Take care.

i agree about the mounds of snow, we are running out of places to put it. But today (Monday) was a melty day so the level might have subsided a but.

We sit in a vast frozen lake. The ground is still frozen, but warmer air has melted the snow. Not very pretty AND we get the icy rain tonight, too!

Sounds like you've had your "lions" share of snow, that's for sure! Stay warm and happy!

The first two days were very lamb like.. but the lion has now emerged. Not much snow.. but cold, cold, cold.

Hope your back is better soon. A sore back plus too much winter is a tough combination.

The temp here in South Carolina was in the 70s(F) but we have a storm coming in tomorrow - just rain though. It looks as though we will not get our three flakes of snow this year. I can relate to the back problems although yours sounds more serious than mine - my twinges come from working in the garden and yard. ec

Hello, I'm new here. I found your blog through a comment you posted for the lovely gentleman who is "Tossing Pebbles." It perhaps would behoove me to pay attention to posting dates, as I also left a comment on your other blog before I noticed it was dated last September. I too hope winter is over soon, although we are in Kentucky, where it doesn't snow very much, but is very cold and horribly damp from October to May. We did have a nice day yesterday. Spring is such a tease.
