Farterdom

I am always amazed to see what I have to type in to submit a comment these days. I don't mind word verification at all, but Blogger must see me coming a mile away and trot out the longest and most difficult codes just for me. Generally speaking, the secret word that I must enter is at least nineteen characters long. Not only that, but it is usually presented to me in the most indecipherable script imaginable. I try my best to decode it and type it but invariably make a mistake. Usually it is not a careless error but a genuine mistaking of the arcanely scripted letters. Once I submit my comment, the code for the next submission comes up: usually something as long and tricky as CAT; it is invariably presented in crisp, easy-to-read block capitals too. All I can say is that some people must lead much luckier lives than I.

Last night, however, the title of this blog came up in word verification: Farterdom! I kid you not, or at least not much. It was actually fartzrdm. The first four letters were definitely there, and the rest of it wasn't much a stretch for me. It was an appropriate word for my day because I was feeling somewhat down in the dumps over now being well into the second month of a poopy pants bad back. That's pretty well how I swear folks: poopy pants, flaming saints, ratsafratz — that sort of thing. But I'm getting better at using stronger language as I age. Damn it all!

What's a day without pictures? Here are two of our fallen comrades and one of a backyard frog who barely escaped the blades of the lawnmower.

What great photos!

I'm going to have to enter tifopk to tell you that, too.

I adore the frog, AC. I just ratsafratzin' love it!
Sorry to hear your back is still sore. Have you been to a chiropractor?

You made me chuckle :-) with your Farterdom. I guess I have been lucky. It seems I usually get the shorter letter combos to type.. still often make mistakes.

I understand the lows that accompany back problems. I have suffered with this pain myself. With me.. time did see an improvement.. but it did take a long while.

I love the photos.. they are absolutely beautiful!

What a great way to start the day - reading a funny post! Yes, I've got to figure out if it is 'jgvalsyg'...nope, well then "stjjj" might work...

Wish I could get such good close-up photos! Why, you can see all the little mite colonies, or whatever they are, gobbling nutrients, readying for winter.

I really scuffle with the codes all the time. Besides not being machine readable, they aren't Lynn readable either. However, I am beginning to think I am a robot who thinks he's a human. Maybe, I am a Cylon straight out of Battlestar Galactica. I'm scaring myself now.

Nice pics as usual!

I had to chuckle at farterdom. I distinctly remember the last word verification letters I had to type of your blog.

They were BTCHY

Now if that isn't trying to tell me something, I don't know what is.

That's a neat frog pic! He's cool looking!

I think hearing about your bad back is making mine want to follow suit! Mine's been hurting a lot lately.

I think I spend half of my time blogging retyping in the word verifications b/c I mess them up every time!

Tee hee hee. Thanks for my laugh of the day!

Nineteen characters? Jees!
But the verification thingy does help a lot. I got some unwanted spam and put the verification on. Spam? Gone!

Anyway, it's very nice that if you happen to type the verification wrong, at least your comment doesn't disappear all together!

I love your pictures! You managed to get a close up of a frog?! Wow, I'm surprised it didn't jump off. Anyway, autumn sertainly makes for nice colorful shots!

Oh, I've had 'afuuinm' as verification. Can't make anything out of it. Karla had BTCHY. Now that's a plain clear message! LOL!

Great pics AC!

Farterdom. Well, that pretty much sums up MY day. I may have to adopt that as a new descriptive word.

Someone on my son's blog left the name of an author, "Zuidervaart".

I have been laughing about that all week.

Now I've a name for our next pet.

How is it that I keep right on aging, but never mature?

I can barely type those ID words. I live in the dark this time of year, and have to fold the screen down on the laptop to illuminate the keys.

It's weird how sometimes it's so easy to read tqytur and sometimes it's impossible to read. Love the frog! When I was a kid I had a hospital for the poor frogs that had been hit by the lawnmover (there were a lot because we lived by a swamp and a creek) and nursed them back to health. Minus a leg or two, usually, poor things.

Nope you aren't the only one who can't read those letters or scripts. I understand the need for those things but I detest them myself.

I have a question....what are those spots/droppings on the leaves of that red maple? We've got them all over everything here and I haven't a friggin (hows that for profanity) clue what they are or how to clean it.

You're not alone on the word verification. I'm just grateful the comment doesn't get deleted when the code is typed in wrong.

And again, your pictures rock. :)

So, does that frog have a Canadian accent?? :)
We had a bunch of Can-Am campers last week. They seemed to have a good time, but they thought it was a little warm for this time of year. Gee, I can't imagine why, it was only in the upper 80s with just a smidge of oppressive humidity...thye did enjoy seeing the alligators though.
