Inserting Photos

The new picture insert method seems to be working well for people. Not only can you insert photos directly into your blog by clicking the icon, but you can place them left, right, or centre. If you find that your layout gets a bit messed up (with a big space at the top), you can try this solution suggested by the Blogger folk.

For me, however, Hello will continue to be my preferred method. Using the direct insert method, as I did above, Blogger seems to resize the photos according its preferences, which may not be my preferences. Hello, on the other hand, gives me a lot of control over the size.

After Sue's comment (thanks for that), I had another look at inserting pictures. You can choose amongst three sizes: small (200px), medium (320px), and large (400px). The above photo is 320px.

Interesting! I didn't realise Hello gave any control at all... in fact it took me awhile to realise I could post several photos with Hello and then combine them into one blog post. I like the new method much better - it does give three possible sizes as well as allowing text at the side of a picture. No doubt that's possible with Hello and a good knowledge of HTML but to the uninitated like me, this new method is great!

I've tried Hello for a while, but I wasn't really happy with it. Too much fuss I guess. And I only managed to post one picture at the time for some reason. Which was annoying.

I've tried out Blogger's method on my last post (with the bike pictures) and that seems to work just fine. No layout problems.
It does automatically make the image clickable. I don't really know why that is, because it doesn't show it any bigger once you've clicked it. But it's surely easy to use!

Before uloading any picture, I do however still use Photshop to adjust the size and create that little shadow edge. Haven't found a program yet that does that for me so I have to do that manually...

Before this I've always used Photobucket for storage and created image links in Blogger. That works okay too, only takes longer.
I think I'll be using Blogger's method from now on. Saves a hell of a lot of time!

I tried it out, but I guess I've gotten so use to messing with the way my photos post thru Hello that I'm just not convinced yet. But I like to post my photos larger then most.
